1. Nature of the service
Maevol (the "service") is a research and diagnostic tool that computes and displays historical statistics, implied-volatility measures, and rule-based signal outputs for publicly listed US equities reporting earnings. The service is provided strictly for educational and informational purposes. It does not constitute, and must not be relied upon as, financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, legal advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or derivative instrument.
2. Not licensed as a financial adviser
Maevol is not licensed under the Financial Advisers Act 2001 (Cap. 110) of Singapore ("FAA"), nor is it licensed under the Securities and Futures Act 2001 (Cap. 289) of Singapore ("SFA"). Maevol does not hold a Capital Markets Services Licence issued by the Monetary Authority of Singapore ("MAS"). Nothing on this site should be construed as a regulated activity within the meaning of the FAA, the SFA, or any equivalent legislation in any jurisdiction.
Users who require personalised financial advice should consult a licensed financial adviser in their jurisdiction of residence.
3. No solicitation
The information on this site is not a solicitation, offer, or recommendation to enter into any transaction in capital markets products. The service does not target or solicit residents of any jurisdiction where the provision of such information would be unlawful.
4. Options and derivatives — specific risk warning
Options and other derivatives are complex financial instruments and carry a high level of risk. A significant proportion of retail investors lose money when trading options. Losses can exceed the initial investment. Options strategies discussed on this site — including but not limited to long straddles, short straddles, PEAD (post-earnings-announcement drift) plays, and volatility-based trades — are illustrative of the diagnostic engine's rule-based signal outputs and are not personalised recommendations.
Before trading any option or derivative, users must (a) understand the mechanics and risks of the instrument, (b) read the applicable options disclosure document from their broker (e.g., the U.S. OCC's "Characteristics and Risks of Standardized Options"), and (c) assess whether the instrument is suitable for their personal circumstances, financial goals, and risk tolerance.
5. Data quality and delay
Market data displayed on the service — including option-chain prices, implied volatility, historical prices, earnings announcement dates, and related metrics — is sourced from third-party market-data feeds. This data is generally delayed by at least 15 minutes and may contain errors, omissions, or stale values. Corporate actions (splits, mergers, delistings) may not always be reflected in real time. Earnings dates may be estimated when the reporting company has not confirmed.
Before placing any trade, users must independently verify all figures against their broker's live quote system. Maevol makes no representation or warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the data displayed.
6. Past behaviour does not indicate future results
The service computes signals and scores based on historical statistical patterns across a limited number of prior earnings events (typically 8 to 12 quarters). Past behaviour is not indicative of future results. Statistical patterns that held historically may not continue to hold. Individual earnings events can and do behave outside historical patterns.
7. User responsibility and assumption of risk
Users are solely responsible for their own investment and trading decisions. By using the service, you acknowledge that:
- You have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms;
- You will make your own independent judgment about any investment decision;
- You will verify all figures against your broker before placing any trade;
- You will not treat any output of the service as a personalised recommendation;
- You accept full responsibility for any profit or loss arising from your trading activity.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Maevol, its operators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from (a) use of, or inability to use, the service; (b) reliance on any information displayed by the service; (c) errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in the data; (d) trading losses; or (e) unauthorised access to a user account.
9. Intellectual property
All content on this site — including the Maevol name and mark, the "Maevol Score" and "Maevol Ratio" metric names, the ranked-strategy engine and its rule outputs, the visual design system, and the underlying source code — is the intellectual property of the operators of Maevol. Reproduction, redistribution, republication, framing, scraping, or automated data extraction is not permitted without prior written consent.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
11. Changes to these terms
Maevol may revise these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available at this URL. Continued use of the service after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes will be notified to Insider members via their registered email address.
